As part of our aim to be number 1 in adult wholesale industry news in Australia it is important for us to stay at the front of what’s happening with X rating for classified adult DVDs. Recently we received an email telling us that the last remaining business that classifies X-rated DVDs is no longer doing it in Australia.
The End Of Australian Classified Adult DVDs
We have an extract of the some of the reasons they state for stopping classification
“Due to the declining sales of DVDs in Australia, it is no longer viable for Calvista to continue the process of editing, classifying and replicating DVDs for the Australian market. The costs now far outweigh any returns.”
In the letter they also talk about issues with Australian Border and Customs which we know make it difficult for any adult business to buy and sell Adult Dvds. I would go so far as to say there are even more mitigating factors. We all know one of the main reasons is the internet, people can now get any sort of porn they want, most of which would be X-Rated some of it would be Refused Classification an much of it would be free.
A Sad Day For Adult Shops In Australia
With the end of Calvista making Classified Adult DVDs there is now no way to get legally classified adult dvds in Australia (latest releases), and most if not all dvds bought in from the US and Europe are self classified at 18 plus. So unfortunately if an Adult Business in Australia wants to sell any new DVDs, for which there is still a demand, they will be technically breaking the LAW.
*Just A quick Note Calvista Still has thousands of classified adult dvds available but there will be no new ones. Also they are still going strong selling everything else an adult shop needs.
As it stands now, there are quite a few companies that import new adult movie releases into Australia, a list of which will be available for a small fee from our Adult Wholesale List , many businesses don’t advertise with us so we have built a downloadable list for businesses to buy (so we can support our site). After checking the classification site I can confirm from january 2014 to the date of this post there has been no movies classified as X rated in Australia. So if you want the latest release for your stores or as a customer than it has now go considerably harder.
We do have a number of wholesalers that don’t advertise on this site for one reason or another but our list is possibly the most comprehensive in Australia so if you would like to download please visit our adult wholesalers section.

I always wondered why they even bothered classifying adult dvds that are sold in adult shops to adults, yes there are some types of movies that most shops would not sell but the odd place sold them any way even with classification. Most of the dvds come from the US and these are Self Classified Adult DVDs with mainstream content which seems to work well enough over there.
