A question that often goes through an adult shop owner is “should I ad some viewing booths to my business”. Unlike with an online store where a viewing booth can be just a link in an Adult shop it turns into a major renovation.
The first thing you need to think about is will it alienate my customers, for instance there are now more sex shops without booths then with booths as people use their phones and home computers to access the same or better porn then what is available on the sex shop computers.
The First thing to look at is what demographic does my shop cater to, for instance do you mainly have male customer or a majority of male customers then a booth might work for you. But if your main customers are vibes to females then you will just be wasting space. Although in Australia there are quite a few major chains that serve a mixed clientele and have viewing booths (Club X).
Of course if you can make your viewing booth as discreet as possible then you could still serve both types of customers , successfully and discreetly. The days of customers just renting a dvd and watching it in the Viewing booth are long dead. You need to offer access to internet sites so that your booth customer can bounce from clip to clip and site to site.
Is there Still A demand for Viewing Booths
Frankly the answer is yes, a lot of people do not want to download porn onto their phones or internet or they secretly want to check out a sexual desire that is secret to them, for instance gay and transsexual. Many times the booth customer simply does not want anybody to find out what they look at and what better way than a private anonymous viewing booth.
What are the set up cost
Building an internet booth can cost many thousands of dollars not to mention the technology to charge customers for using your booths. In years gone past you could pay ten thousand dollars just for a high maintenance system. Now you can get away with a small room a table, second hand computer (internet access) and coin box.
The Problems With security and Viruses
Because your customers are on the internet they can go anywhere, including sites that shouldn’t be accessed the good news is the majority of bad sites are on the dark net and can only be accessed with a tor browser, which you do not put on the computer this way it should keep the users on the straight and narrow. But you will still need a good security system , we like webroot and malware remover. You will need to do regular malware scans and defrag depending on the age of your computer. one other things you need to remember is to make a guest account for your computer users and keep the computer locked down with a really good admin password.

Viewing booths are an awesome addition to an adult shop. Downloading porn to your cell phone while convenient has a limit to its thrill factor. If I have to choose between the shop with or without viewing booths I’m always going WITH the booths. Optional peep holes between booths and open viewing spaces are a big ++++++
